We offer several levels of training from the absolute beginner to the advanced user. Emphasis is placed on understanding how the tools operate and how to choose the best tool for the task at hand.

All classes are taught on the student's choice of Mac or Windows.

If you are not sure which level of class is best for you, please review the class descriptions. We recommend starting with the introductory class -- even students with experience find it an excellent refresher and preparation for more advanced training.

RED101 Creating Text and Titles with Boris Software
1 day - $395
This class is for people who want to create great text and titles using the Boris text engine. Taught using RED, it also applies to the Graffiti and Calligraphy text tools. Students will learn how to:

  • Understand and use basic typography
  • Create great looking text
  • Use, create, and save text styles
  • Animate text
  • Work with text containers
  • Create 3D text

RED102 Creating Effects with Boris Software

Using RED, this course covers basic image manipulation with visual effects and compositing techniques. Students will learn how to:

  • Apply effects to content
  • Control the behavior of effects
  • Animate effects
  • Use basic blue and green screen keying techniques
  • Work with masks
  • Work with basic compositing techniques

RED201 Boris RED Tools
1 day - $ 395
This class is designed for people who have completed the 100-level classes or know the basics of using Boris RED and want to move on to more intermediate tools and techniques for working with 3D. These include:

  • Extruding and manipulating 3D objects
  • 3D Compositing techniques

RED250 Intro to Boris RED
3 days - $ 1095
This is a combination of the first three classes: 101, 102, and 201.

RED301 Advanced Boris RED
2 days - $ 795
This class is designed for people who have completed the intermediate class or know Boris RED and want to move on to more advanced tools and techniques. These include:

  • Motion tracking and image stabilization
  • Using Particle Generators
  • Time-based effects
  • Advanced keying techniques
  • Color correction and effects
  • Rotoscoping techniques

RED350 Boris RED Master Class
5 days - $ 1600
This class is a week-long total immersion into Boris RED. It combines all of the classes into one intensive session. Recommended for those who want to get the most out of Boris RED quickly and already have experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, or other graphics tools. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR BEGINNERS.
